OmniMount was looking to improve their business targeted toward consumers, and realized that they needed a more intuitive navigation and URL system. They also needed a clean way of showing more of the product details the consumers cared about, without overwhelming them.
Colossus Interactive created a new site with the consumer's needs in the forefront of our minds during development and design. One of the highlights was The OmniMount Finder, which gave customers an interactive product search tool. The OmniMount Finder works through a sophisticated lookup system based on the weight and dimensions of the user's television, with minimal data entry.
With the success of their consumer-focused site, OmniMount tasked us with creating a new commercial site with similar features. Because the consumer site was built on our Loom framework, considerable time and money was saved by integrating the commercial site with the infrastructure already in place for the consumer site.
Development of the site included hosted micro sites and APIs for OmniMount's sales and distribution partners. This allowed them to showcase their own products, as well as automatically identifying OmniMount products compatible with their own. The APIs retrieved product specification data from an external aggregator, and kept OmniMount's product database up to date.
Car Toys needed to replace a legacy point of sale application for kiosk locations of their subsidiary, Wireless Advocates. Colossus Interactive was hired and began work with Wireless Advocates' partners to develop a more modern and user-friendly web application.
Through the use of web services, heavy use of AJAX on the site's front end, and integrating legacy databases with modern relational ones, much of the sales process was automated and streamlined. This enabled the Car Toys sales associates to close wireless sales much faster.
